Yes, being accused of a crime simply for buying something in a store, being accosted by police officers, paraded in handcuffs through the store like a criminal, even take to jail for a few hours, all because of your race and not because of anything you've actually done, is just about "hurt feelings".

I just saw this woman along with another "scientist" on a morning news show. They vomited the most sexist, inane, insulting drivel couched in scientific study I've heard in a while. What I learned from them:

Yes, I can see how the enslaving, torture, rape, and murder of Black people was a horrible situation for white women. The fact that white women didn't have equal rights has nothing to do with slavery, and the two should not be conflated.

I do not presume to tell anyone what kind of movies to make nor what kind of movies to see.

Nothing wrong with that point of view.

I mean, mmmmmmmmmm, what red-blooded hetero woman wouldn't want to get it on with a hot jock right after he dominated a game? Yummy. - Stilettosoldier

Haha - I'm getting a bit of a crush on Ichabod, which I know is unoriginal, but I can't help it *blushing* I also go on a bit too much about this show, but I'm probably much more annoying when it comes to The Walking Dead. I. Love. Zombies. Lol

Enjoy fucking yourself.

You know, I have to just say that this is one of the few times where someone may have disagreed with me on this site and I was asked to explain myself where the person just said "Oh, ok", and left it at that without adding some kind of personal insult. Thank you for that.

Luckily, my view on what art can challenge people to think and do is not limited (that is a conclusion you have come to seemingly out of thin air, since I did not address "art" specifically). And my point is exactly what I wrote it to be - no need to add to it that I don't think historical films featuring Black

Over-the-top to you. Not to everyone.

Then you are not very bright. You clearly fail to understand what my point even is, and then use your lack of understanding to jump to an insulting, nonsensical conclusion.

Excuse me? "Why should we care...?" Very telling.

Says the idiot who assumes a Black woman must watch Tyler Perry garbage. Sorry I didn't take it like I was "supposed" to - you did mean it to be an insult, did you not? Well, one insult deserves another, and I enjoy using all corners of my considerable vocabulary when dealing with your ilk, including my little

I'm definitely not saying that the movie is the same as The Help or The Butler. It's not how true the depiction is, how well done the depiction is, or whether it is white-guilt stroking that's at issue for me. It's the depiction itself - it's a little too comfortable.

Waaay ahead of you on this one, lol. I'm a big fan of this crazy but super well-done show!

Excuse me? Go fuck yourself.

These are the same things that white people say about Black people in the U.S. when presented with negative statistics. "It's their culture that's the problem." "They don't value education." "They keep having babies." White privilege at work. It's everywhere, which is something that people with black skin

Yes, I understand that it is not the same as The Help. Again, that wasn't my point.

I think the point I'm making is not getting across to you. The style, type, or veracity of the depiction isn't the problem. It's the depiction itself.
