Actually, the A-10's the aircraft most likely to be carrier-usable. It’s got excellent lift characteristics (being designed for taking off from very short airfields) and has all the reinforcements necessary for carrier operations. The only real alterations necessary would be the addition of a carrier hook and some

Here we go again with the A10s

I'm pretty sure they were serving bacon in the galley the next morning.

I’m no vegan or peta supporter. I love my bacon and ribs. But those poor little pigs being so petrified, imagine if one fell off deck and somehow survived and drowned.

As God is my witness, I thought pigs could fly.

I know nothing about bombs - but reading 50% of the comments here made me feel right at home :) 2 simple points

Precise (but not precision) medium alt bombing of bridges in France by USAAF impeded German movements. It was well done stuff, most bombs falling on or blast range of target and done above 8000 Feet. Massive area bombing for tactical reasons was only done at Caen and at Falaise in 1944 in France.

More accurate than Vietnam-era dumb bombs? Sure. Probably not that bad in terms of accuracy, even. But they aren’t going to be nearly as accurate as a Western precision-based weapons systems.

hey dude, American also doing it

Thats awesome! Learn something every day. I am starting to get into WWII aircraft paint schemes for some reason. I really enjoy the obscure ones, like this. Thanks for sharing-

That’s awesome is that a real paint scheme? Looks like the Trop paint underneath from the Mediterranean conflict area. Early war

Now playing

19:35 - WW2 Medium altitude bombing (between 8000 and 15000) and pretty well on target.

even if accuracy is off by 50+ meters, it’s more than enough down there, look at the area of the drop. And the situation down there requires these kind of measures.

Well it probably would have saved you (and everyone else!) a lot of money to develop something like this, out of a pre-existing aircraft, than that mess of the F35 program. Now we may get to fund both anyways.
I swear, the Air Force is the most corrupt arm of the government sometimes.

well, if you read the article ( I kid i kid!!! I couldn’t resist!) they are requesting these through an addition to the annual defense aid... which we pay for. So... yes. It will come out of US tax $$$. But I do agree if we are footing the bill to buy the IAF a few of these we might as well replace the 200 or so -15Cs

Said no one ever.

Fairly small price to pay, considering they’re first to get wiped off the map on the day after Iran finishes its bomb.

Boeing already offered a package to the Pentagon that would have refurbished a portion of our Eagle fleet to SE standard and reset the airframe time to zero, but we refused them. I don’t think there’s much domestic interest in the SE, even with the F22 out of production.

They could but the Super Hornet Advanced would be a much better choice due to commonality with the Hornets they have

Are you Israeli? If not, probably nothing. US Government has experessed zero interest in buying these (though if Boeing actually gets them in production, it might not be a bad idea to pick some up, since the halt of F-22 production means we are going to have to rely on the F-15 fleet for much longer than intended.
