As far as I’m concerned, the academy, America, missed the opportunity for a very meaningful dialogue about women and feminism when they all but ignored Sarah Polley’s Women Talking. I couldn’t find a single thing wrong with that film but it seems that America did.

I would definitely say best since season 2. Season 1 and 2 I go back and forth on for best but its close. Season 3 I was somewhat underwhelmed by, it had good aspects and characters but it never fully clicked, and Season 4 was a mess that I really wanted to love.

Meh, I’m not feeling it.  She didn’t say she was poor or broke.  She said she doesn’t have a job which is just a statement of fact.  I don’t think it sounds the same as the “I’ve got kids to feed” comment.  Also while she may not be in financially dire straits it can’t feel good to not have a job when you want a job.

The show is actively feinting towards that idea. It’s not something anyone “figured out” cause it’s not what happened.
