I think your comments on Sandy Hook hit the nail on the head. When I watched that unfold on TV, I thought 'If this doesn't incite change in gun regulation, nothing ever will.' It was literally the worst case scenario of a gun-happy society, and politicians still cared more about the gun lobby than about elementary…

I've abandoned hope on the subject of gun control. They've won. And they've won decisively. An annual pile of bodies six and a half miles high is simply the price to pay for the freedom to have all the guns one could want. If a building full of dead children doesn't shift things, I shudder to imagine what would.

Jesus. Just ban the production and sales of guns to people who don't belong to a well-regulated militia. Enforce the 2nd Amendment, the real one, not the one in the NRA's imagination.

It's all about ideology and by extension, identity. They don't care about life, they care about the markings of a conservative, and opposing abortion is one of them.

I dunno, it was a black guy who did the shooting this time, and you know the same people who are so pro-gun will take that into consideration. Perhaps they will reconsider their stance now that black people are being scary on a national scale.

I support increased gun control. They seriously need to stop acting like they're the only ones who have ever handled or owned…

Thanks so much for this, Erin. I live in VA - home of trans-vaginal ultrasound laws, laws that shut down most of the clinics providing abortion, but HEY! I can carry a gun in to a bar, on the metro, and into my daughter's school. I feel so free.
