And people wonder why Democrats won’t fucking VOTE. Disillusionment much, politics?

The whole site has been really fucking snarky recently. It’s almost tiring reading one sarcastic snark after another. This is a good thing. Can we just have a good thing and call it that? For once?

As someone who works in the abortion field, I am SO appreciative of this segment. John has done more to sum up what is going on in a digestible 16 minute clip than I could ever do. When you’re in the field you can obviously talk for HOURS about any topic, because you have a lot of knowledge, but also because you see

This this this!

I get the impression that the snark would have been there regardless of when it aired.

Agreed, I thought he covered the issue well, and he’s covered other feminist issues on the show previously

Sorry, but is the snark aimed at him for “noticing” this really necessary? I haven’t been able to watch the video yet, but judging from his past segments I really doubt he’s guilty of any mansplaining or something similar. Why not simply praise the show for doing a (presumably) well-informed piece on this issue and

As a brown Muslim woman who lives in Canada and not Saudi Arabia-you can absolutely criticize religious dogma. I do. I am tired of people going “but! but! ISIS! Saudi Arabia! Bad stuff!” when I try to talk about Islamophobia. I talk about misogyny in majority Muslim countries, including Pakistan-my other home-all the

WORD. I love my husband and he’s mostly SUPER great, but if we both have hangovers (or are sick, or whatever), I’m the one simultaneously bathing the kid/vomiting in the toilet while he’s on the couch with the remote and a giant bottle of gatorade. Women get it done.

Ditto. I’m a Catholic but I really used to think the world was all Catholics and Jews for the most part. That was my experience growing up. Then I went to college and people were like “You’ve met a Jewish person? Wow!”. I grew up across the street from an orthodox synagogue. We turned everyone’s stove off on Friday

In Canada we make the same complaint about ever bagel that isn’t from Montreal... which is weird because Toronto probably has more Jews in terms of population, but their bagels are terrible.

I have friends who bought bagels back from Goldbergs. Taking into account the travel, they were pretty great.
