You lack evidence to support your claim. Bill Belichick is a control freak too - highly successful. On the other side, there are “players coaches” who don’t have success either. Given the right environment and players, Chip Kelly can be a successful NFL coach.

As an Eagles season ticket holder I suspect the answer is “raise ticket prices, hire a no-tread-left-on-the-tires Marty Mornhinweg OR some obscure position coach, draft another ‘high upside, high-motor locker room leader” and begin a decade long cycle of 4-11 to 6-9 seasons.”

Knowing the Eagles, I’m sure they have a solid, level-headed long-term strategy in place to ensure consistent excellence with a minimum of drama, and the discipline to see it through to completion.
