Is this necessary? Who is this for? Considering how tragic Smith’s life is, I really wonder if there’s any way this can be anything but exploitative. Have they consulted with her family at all?

The terrifying part to me is that we don’t need Trump to win the election to ensure the downfall of democracy; we just need him to run. Because then all of the election-suppressing, insurrectionist, gaslighting, Brownshirt mechanisms all get kicked into high gear, with the backing of the whole Republican party, on

I enjoy the parts that are on the astral plane, there’s always a nice atmosphere of creepy expectancy...but the big bads are always unscary

I’ve always liked Patrick Wilson for some odd reason. I have never seen any of the 18,000 horror movies he’s been in though.

Or maybe she is just reliably and consistantly wrong.

I think it’ll happen, they’ll be shamed into it. A lot of supposedly progressive artists will be feeling a little uncomfortable right now that their fans are wondering why they are not following Neil Young’s lead. That will only grow.

The fact that they haven’t said boo about the cause of death definitely makes me wonder.

Get vaccinated?

Same. A Mr. Show quote comes to mind: “Not very funny. Just plain mean.”

Jeez, a 5-paragraph recap of a 9-minute Late Show segment to say “David Cross to release [probably bad] stand-up special”? Are there not enough streaming TV shows or movies to chat about for you, AV Club?

Either the author of the article cut every last thing Whedon said that could have been even mildly helpful to him (Apologies? Indications that he has learned some sort of lesson? Acknowledgements that his behavior was unacceptable?), or Whedon is a bad, bad person. I’m inclined toward the later possibility.

we should also ask ourselves, “If I were in the same position, would I be able to say no to her?”

also important to remember that whedon is the grandchild and son of tv writers, so he was handed all this shit. cushy office gig at roseanne immediately, failed upwards his whole career.
