It's a university, not a day-care. If the student wants to slack off and waste his/her parents' money that should be his/her prerogative. All the professor has to do is make sure the tests are hard and fair. If the students gonna dick around but they can learn the material and/or do the work, who cares?

I do a similar thing...my rule is under 500 friends so as soon as I go over I go through and clean house deleting about 40-50ppl. There is some HUUUUURT feelings/awk times for sure.

Oh nooooo Gizmodo promotions in the Deal of the Day....Pretty sure it's all downhill from here.

hahahhahahah....that's is one way to go about making the point!

Oh man I hope this goes somewhere and FTC lays the smack-down on Apple's self-centered lil world. How is it legal to sell a phone that has such high market-share and have such outlandish profit sharing model? 70-30 and all Apple does is reject apps they don't like and host the app. It's like if back in the PC days

His data will be excluded as an outlier but overall I think ANY research that does an experiment like this MAY be inherently a bit biased because at least for myself I doubt if I KNEW I was being watched and my eye movements were being recorded I would look at the movie the same way no matter how much i try. I think I

Why do I think this was one of the coolest thing I've seen in a LONG time...

Guys when I click on another post it loads but it stays opaque and I have to re-fresh the page. I'm on Chrome.

I don't really understand why people complain about post-processing. If it looks GOOD it looks GOOD. If it looks like crap, it looks like crap. How you get there is irrelevant. Maybe a picture is "suppose" to reflect a snap-shot of reality at that point but maybe there needs to be a VERY STRICT guideline for contests

more fun. GOSH.

Well the beauty of this deal for Nokia is it's not exclusive so they could still do Android. However I think for the near future (i.e. 2 years), their best interest would be to keep 100% focus on this WP7 thing because in my opinion this is their final stand. Starting one battle and making sure to win is better than

I have to say from the moment I heard this I thought it was genius on both ends. I mean who was gonna buy WP7 and who was gonna buy Nokia cuz of Android. HTC and Motorola have taken the lead with Android already. Nokia comes in as the lone-man on WP7 and they can have a fiiiield day designing the hardware. I have to

I think there was an article on here right after the nokia-microsoft thing got announced saying that there is no exclusivity agreement in the deal actually and Nokia could still go with Android.

I personally like this look a BIT better than the old one...I don't understand the HUGE gray strips running down the side which can go into making both columns relatively wider but I have the feeling AdBlock is making me see grey where others are seeing ads.

I thought it was interesting too....

What's that tab you got open to the left? it looks like you can put a search term right in the tab?

I disagree with most people who are hating on the re-design...I actually find it useful that I can browse an article and then without clicking anywhere just scroll through all the postings on the right and go to another article.

@RawlsRorty: i phone. wait what? you phone? with what do you phone? well, i phone with iphone.

@armerad: Woooooah. I def. got totally PWND. Thanks actually. Good to know Android is safe.

Listen, I love Google. I REALLLY DO. But after the whole Android thing, I think Google calling out Microsoft is a little bit of the "pot calling the kettle black" kind of thing...
