Hopefully he’s sentenced to an hour sharing a cell with Larry Nassar.

It’s important for me during the trial of this absolute monster to remember a few things:
I think you’re misunderstanding what people here are saying. Everyone understands the philosophical underpinnings of the judicial system. You’re just seriously overestimating the way judges actually conduct their day to day work . Judges, especially trial judges, are pragmatists above all else. And nobody is going to…
I heard the description before I saw the video, but I agree with what I heard. It’s nervous laughter. They know he’s serious and don’t really know how to react.
“I’m going to throw the book at the guy who tried to punch the guy who sexually molested his three teenage daughters.” - No judge who wants to keep their job (in a state where they elect judges, no less).
Counterpoint.
Lol what? That’s bonkers. Given the circumstances there’s no way this dude is getting hit hard for this.
Maybe a bit like Gary Plauche, who shot and killed his son’s abductor/molester in the airport after he was captured and only got 5 years probation and 300 hrs community service.
Those officers did their job compassionately. They stopped him and didn’t hurt him. The man was in pain. When the father asked them as the end “What if this happened to you?” I thought I saw the officer say “I know...”.
They’ll probably throw some flimsy assault charge at him that won’t get enforced. Might spend a couple hours in custody.
Vigilante justice is not great. Larry’s going to die in prison, no need for anyone else to ruin their life over him.
You’d be wrong.
This is the dumbest take I have ever read, and I can only assume it was sarcastic.
2-OK, the fan should not have been out there (On the court), but the clip made it look like he was a few yards away from Westbrook and Westbrook walked close to him to gather the ball, not like the fan was chasing after, closing in on, or confronting Westbrook. When Westbrook got close; the fan yelled
Assault does not necessarily involve a physical attack. Assault is any action that causes the other person to fear bodily harm. It can be a slap, a punch or a shove, but it can also be a verbal threat of violence, aggressive posturing (a raised fist, jabbing a finger) or yelling angrily in someone’s face.
Space they should be? He’s on the court screaming in his face. I can’t tell if this is sarcasm or not.
Don’t bring NASCAR into this
How many Pall Mall’s burned in the ashtray when you typed this?
Save it for your column, Mr. Couch.
I just don’t get what anyone has to gain by defending anyone in this process so vigorously especially in the face of repeated, systemic failures as it regards sexual crimes across the country at many institutions once considered hallowed with what I am sure is a significant number of new reports of systemic failures…
