I thought it was a solid finale. In fact, it seems like this show finally found its footing just as it was too late to matter.

Embiggen? I never heard that word until I moved to Springfield.

I too have been a fan of hers since "Guiding Light"— she was so great on that and in such a unique/crazy storyline that I can't even describe and that a lesser actress absolutely could not have pulled off. She was great on Battlestar too and like the AV Club I was pissed they killed her off so fast.

You needed the same map from 2000 to really pull this story off.

I love how FXX plays episodes on Sunday that match the theme of the new episode. It is a cool little Easter egg. But in this Case it backfired because it showed that this episode has been done before and better. It wasn't awful but it wasn't great. Who else thinks the writers now regret killing Maude?

It's called a sense of humor…. Get one. Good grief.

Also you just don't get the final season. Yeah, some of those episodes were really over the top and awful. But the essential message was that money doesn't solve your problems. I'll take the last season for the campy mess that it was. Interestingly enough, it was almost the most dated season. The rest of the series

That's why the sitcom is basically dead. Roseanne was definitely a comedy, but it had terrific actors and plenty of drama and sweet moments that made you really care about the characters. Without the heart, Roseanne would have been just another show.

I think this article belittles Roseanne as a person. Yes, I imagine some people did find her difficult to work with. But her instincts were right. One of the reasons why this show has aged so well, despite some outdated clothes and technology, is that Roseanne pushed the envelope. Roseanne wanted HER show with HER

I am glad they are showing it so much, but the episode order is disappointing to me. I see they are basically mixing 2009 episodes with season 1 to start. I'd rather they either skip around completely randomly or do theme nights if they can't go in chronological order again.

Obviously nothing compares to the glory years, but I think the show is still good. I will keep watching until it ends.
