I’d like to nominate the 2014 Lexus lineup.
I have a ‘95 that spent most of it’s life in San Diego and the frame looks brand new, gotta love not ever living near the rust belt.
While you are right about the floor, which can be hollowed out via a removable panel, an unladen Cozy Coupe weighs no more than 5 lbs. Put a 25-30 lb kid in the seat, and the center of gravity is plenty low enough to prevent a rollover event.
How cool would it be to pick up your daughter at the Amtrak station in your RHD Samurai? WTF.
I ran a VW diesel shop for 5 years. About 30% of my work was on gassers. The diesels always had more problems and were more expensive to fix. The emissions systems on the diesels are so complex and the parts so expensive it’s not worth buying one unless you need a work truck for towing.
It needs a manual from an enthusiast standpoint. I drove one, it's a good box but for the money I'd rather go the Cayman route or even a Vette. I want to drive the car, it's about the experience not shaving fractions of a second. Now for comparison the 458 I drove is just fine with the paddles, it's so god damn fast…
