This is the correct take. The “I’m doing this trading project” explanation can/should only be used for the very first trade. Simply because who would trade something of notable value for a *bobby pin*?

Yup.  That was even explicit in the minivan trade.

This is on par with the “I retired at 30 by cutting a Starbucks habit” articles.

She first posted an image of the bobby pin explaining her mission, and traded it for brand new earrings from a woman on Facebook who was excited to take part. People’s eagerness to get involved has been the most surprising thing

I mean, yeah, when you have someone willing to trade a minivan for an iPhone just to be a part of the story.....

It’s very apparent that she’s using her “influencer status” to actually get these trades. I doubt a lot of people would be willing to make these trades in day-to-day life. 

This. Do you like to read blogs like this and comment on them? Do you like inexpensive food and housing? Do you like not dying from trivial diseases? Then you (and the other 7B+ people on the planet who also like those things) need energy on a massive scale that today only fossil fuels has been able to meet the demand…

Until we invent a cold matter-to-energy converter, there are no easy answers to powering the modern world.

Once you realize that Jalopnik is paid by advertisers (many of which are auto companies like Ford, GM, VW, Toyota, etc.) and that Tesla famously doesn’t advertise at all, these pathetic zero-research hit pieces make a lot more sense.

We’re just supposed to ignore the multiple thousands of seniors who died due to his order last March?  The toxic workplace is bad enough, but don’t lose sight of how many people died.

The information obtained to date is very troubling, but those spouting out this is a simple case of murder seem to base their opinion on 2 false bits of info: the warrant WAS served on the correct address and she was NOT sleeping.
