Yeah, I mean, it’s not like “Mengele” is a famous name or anything.

This. I think people would be MORE ok with experimentation on humans that showed near-miraculous abilities. Between an easy “We’re finding the key to immortality”, and people’s lizard-brain distrust of anything different than them, especially someone with a power that they don’t understand, it’d be pretty easy to…
That is absolutely unfair. Hank Hill would be horrified by the intentionally poor maintenance necessary for rolling coal. NTM he dedicated his life to clean-burning fuel.
Oh, I don’t know. My dad has a King Ranch F-350. Saddle leather seats and all- but I also know for a fact that there are at least a pick and shovel bouncing around in the bed right now. He uses the towing capacity all the time, the bed is constantly full of junk he’s hauling somewhere or other, he uses the 4WD at our…
“Don’t take advice from Evel Knievel”
Literally.
Yeah. But this whole article was about someone who didn’t know the game, or the history, or having that library, being a professional commentator for it. So, ya know...
With you man. Knife slipped when I was cutting a dowel, went halfway through my left thumb. Zapped the tendon and nerves. Good side is that the numbness is all on the top (who needs that?), but it only closes down so far, and pretty much no strength in the last knuckle.
Ok buddy, let me clear this up for you- I’m not missing your point. I’m disagreeing with your point. Different people like different things. For you, the rider is more important. Awesome. For me, it’s the vehicle. And both of those opinions are ok.
Is there anybody that can photoshop Maldanado in front of a Crashgate headline? Pleeeeeaaaaassseeee?
Tires are a huge issue in F1 - bigger than Moto- but the electronics are very tightly regulated; even more than these new MotoGP rules, and that definitely would have counted as traction control, which is strictly verboten. And that’s cool if the drivers are all you’re interested in- but that’s not me.
Right? “GRRRR GET OUT OF THE WAY”
You mean beautiful stick, right?
An incredible album
I think you have some facts you may want to double check. I said brevity specifically about my original Brawn GP comment. That has nothing to do with context. While I agreed with you about double diffusers, the ground effects and Gurney flap were not cheats to get around rules at the time- they were things being…
I’m not sure what you’re saying about brevity? And the double diffuser was an example- if you want a better one, the ground effects tunnels from the old Lotuses. That was brilliant. Or the Gurney Flap.
Yeah, I know the Brawn success is more complicated than I wrote, but brevity helped my point. I have no illusions that money isn’t the best recipe for success- but the difference with me is that I don’t mind that. I’m also not too concerned with race tech making it into production vehicles. It’s awesome if that…
You’re probably right. But the engineer that had the idea for the torquo-o-ton arguably had as much impact as the rider. Do you know their name? Do you think they party with models? I think the riders are compensated for their increased risk. Look, I’m not trying to take away anything from the riders, and if I could…
I said less likely. I understand that this isn’t a spec series yet, but you can’t deny that it is a step in that direction.
