I found myself getting bored and looking at my phone during the first half of this episode, which is never a good sign.
The inconsistencies with Barry's speed bother me too.
It's such a pleasant surprise to see this show getting A.V. Club coverage. Its small audience size probably means there's little economic reason to commit a writer to it, but it is so deserving of the attention.
I had that thought as well, but I'm not sure they were watching him around the clock. Especially since he visited a S.H.I.E.L.D facility, the location of which I presume to be secret.
I agree with you. Unfortunately my milieu isn't one in which esoteric scientific terms frequently come up. Using 'serodiscordant;' knowing nobody else knows its meaning, would come across as a pretentious display of vocabulary.
I learned it a few years ago and still haven't figured out how to pretentiously inject it into everyday conversation.
Absolutely loved this episode, but I can't help but think that the Marvel universe really only makes sense in The Avengers movies. Surely the risk of an alien biological weapon being detonated would warrant a phone call to S.H.I.E.L.D.'s film-only agents?
There was a Marvel One-Shot called 'All Hail The King' that confirmed the existence of The Ten Rings in the MCU.
