...and thus, the A/V club's "Hot takes on Quentin Tarantino" summer continued unabated by self-awareness.
I mean I went to an AMC to catch Godzilla vs. Kong after getting my shots, and... he’s not 100% wrong
Well, and it does seem like the show is missing the point. Seldon wasn’t personally going to overthrow the Empire. From his calculations, it was already doomed, sort of like a cancer patient that doesn’t know they have incurable metastatic disease. He didn’t cause it, any more than the oncologist caused the cancer…
Pete Davidson hasn’t been sure he’s on SNL for a while now.
He probably could’ve phrased it better, but I agree with the underlying sentiment 100%. It’s absurd that every male friendship gets distorted into a potential gay relationship, even when there’s no evidence beyond the relationship being just a male friendship. Happens with female friendships, too (see, e.g.,…
Any mention of the term “method acting” is not complete without the famous thing Laurence Olivier said to Dustin Hoffman: “My dear boy, have you tried acting?”
You didn’t quote the best line from 2 Becomes 1: “Be a little bit wiser, baby. Put it on, put it on.”
“honestly, i don’t hear anything particularly special about janet weiss as a drummer. she’s a rock drummer, and a really good one. meh.”

Saying “Sleater-Kinney has seen drummers come and go” is a little like saying “Nirvana saw drummers come and go.” Yeah, there were others before, but only one matters, and they were a huge part of the band.
I’m excited/trepidatious to listen to the new album, but suggesting that the band has “always been Corin and Carrie” smacks a bit of the sort of revisionism in the Spinal Tap bit when Nigel leaves the band.
Why wait when you can already see now an excellent film which has many of those elements? I doubt this will top Perfect Blue.
I would like to propose a codicil to the Bechdel test:
For the third installment, they are going to bring Johnny Depp and Charlize Theron on board.
Snark all you want, but if I were as rich as him or Musk, I would totally take a joyride into space and be looking for another dirtball to get away from all the stupid fuckers down here.
Doyle is an ass, and you’re right in what you say about him, but the previous poster is correct about how poorly this article is written, in its unexplained references to the guy (I only knew he’s the G&M’s crappy TV hack because I’m Canadian) and to the frequently-cited-but-unlinked article that apparently provoked…
