Thanks for having far more patience than I do.

Absolutely, but as gay people we have come too far to allow fear to beat us back into the shadows, physically or otherwise.

Yes. I don't just shut out people because "I just can't deal right now". Changing people's minds is how the world gets better, not shutting them out.

I can fucking tell you anything I like. Thanks for the support.

We hate that which we do not understand.

Just following your lead.

On behalf of my gay brethren, thanks for directly, intentionally making the world a worse place by not engaging with the less-enlightened. Shadows are driven away by more shadows, not sunlight.

nobody said anything like that but please, pull out some more smug strawmen.

Generally it's scary for people of any ideology to step outside their ideological bubble.

but just because it's less bad doesn't mean it's not still bad

Are we now playing the "I don't care about this guy at all!" card when you clicked and commented on an article about this guy you don't care about?

Nah, you just posted the facts up there sans opinion because you're interested in The Truth.

That it's less bad than like, people who call for conversion camps and want to ban gay marriage doesn't mean that it's not bad.

How is it a strawman? "Gay people weird me out" is different than "I want gay people to die" or "I think gay people shouldn't be able to get married." But to most of the people here, it doesn't matter: Crank up the outrage to 10 no matter what, because that's progress.

I'm a queer person too, and I'm pretty much fine with it. Those who pretend everybody needs to believe the exact same thing are as simple-minded as those they hate.

You must understand that we now live in a world where an arsonist and a person who openly mused about arson once are exactly the same thing.

He said something insensitive and bad 6 years ago.

Still been enjoying Arcade Fire's Everything Now. If I skip past "Chemistry" it's pretty good.

Say it out loud, quickly. You'll get it.

That's what it says on my tombstone.
