So, to recap, you started a dick measuring contest about real cinema vs. hipster cinema. In your face, filmbros!

A terrific response to a terrible idea.

I wasn't talking about anyone I knew personally. And its true that there are plaintiff side lawyers and firms that can help.

Yeah, as the spouse of a lawyer who used to work for a firm that represented pretty large companies, there is a method to this madness, and not all of it is Pure Evil.

I guess I'm going to be the guy to point out that the shadowy cabal in "Inherent Vice" is a bunch of dentists.

No, not at all. The plot is actually very carefully constructed insanity.

Chekov's Poutine Potato Chip: If you introduce a Poutine Potato Chip in the 1st Act, IT MUST APPEAR IN THE 3RD ACT! Teti, Eakin! Get it together.

I love Greenaway (or at least, Greenaway through the '90s), but Prospero's Books is a slog.

But Chinatown is a fucking shining tower of awesome.

Doug Benson is in this class of comedians who are apparently good friends with other comedians who I really like, but who I find extremely annoying and repetitive.

LaLD is a bigoted fever-dream of white society played out on the big screen. "BLACK PEOPLE ARE ALL WORKING FOR DRUG DEALING MURDERERS! VOODOO IS SCARY BUT ALSO TOTALLY A TRICK! WOMEN LOSE THEIR POWER ONCE THEY'VE BEEN FUCKED!"

Tinker, Tailor is the first book of a 3 part series, sometimes called the "Karla series." Karla is the code-name for Smiley's KGB nemesis. The middle book is "The Honorable Schoolboy," which is mostly set in Hong Kong. The final book is "Smiley's People," which was also filmed for the BBC with Alec Guinness, and

For sure. He's a fantastic writer. His essay about how espionage drives you to imagine things is one of the best pieces I've read. http://www.newyorker.com/ma…

It's only complicated in its setup, I think. The plot is actually pretty straightforward once you understand the idea that the Circus (to protect their source, which was a plant by the KGB) and the KGB (with intel from the mole) were both trying to keep the same thing a secret.

Exactly. MI6 thought they were protecting the identity of a key source in the Kremlin, but in actuality were unwittingly protecting the mole the KGB planted in MI6, allowing the mole to pass state secrets to the KGB under the guise of giving their source unimportant intel.

In an urn?

They'll do that in small DIY venues, but anyplace bigger than a large family room needs a soundboard and main speakers so it all doesn't get muffled and echoey.

If I'm the sound guy, I turn her guitar channel as low as it can possibly go to the mains.

You forgot "pathetic." Does the other guy know that they're in a relationship, much less a committed engagement?

My two boys are uncut, unlike me. I'm perfectly fine with my circumcised self, but there is just no reason for me to have cosmetic surgery performed on my kids.
