You are way too angry about this. Shouldn’t someone who lives in Las Frickin’ Vegas have a higher tolerance for shitty gimmicks? How the fuck do you make it through the day?

The fact that you can express your outrage at those gross miscarriages of justice, openly and legally, without fear that you’ll be hauled from your home in the middle of the night and thrown in a work camp after an hour long ‘trial’ is a pretty big difference.
I am also Canadian, and also a bit of a Franklin buff. His enthusiasm for the expeditions to find the ships was probably Harper’s most (only?) endearing quality. I’ve spent some time in the NWT but would love to take a voyage through the Northwest passage, although ideally not while being stalked by an unholy demon.
I really enjoyed The Terror (the book), and am fully on board (boat pun! boat pun!) for the adaptation, especially if Menzies is in it.
I bet it’s Shia Labeouf, and I bet that peyote was involved.
Off the ice, maybe...
Really? I only come when being fucked by men in pale mom jeans who have not bothered to take their shirts off!
I’ve lived a sheltered sexual life. I’m not trying to judge, I’m asking people who are more well-versed for their opinions.
I will confess that “Promiscuous” is a guilty pleasure of mine, and I hope she bought a nice condo or something out of the royalties. But I’m happy she’s getting back to her roots! I feel bad for people who only heard “I’m Like a Bird” and wrote her off as a one hit wonder; they’re missing out on some great stuff.
Your confusion reminds me that I have not listened to “Hot in Herre” in far too long. I have fond memories dancing, awkwardly and whiteishly, to this song back in the day.
I’ve been a fan of hers since her Whoa, Nelly days, and I maintain that Folklore is an underrated gem of an album. I’m glad she had a bit of fun (and made some coin) during her Timbaland days, and gladder that she’s gotten back to more personal music.
This seems like an appropriate time to recommend The Wanderers, a fabulous new novel about three astronauts training for an upcoming Mars mission; one of the protagonists is an experienced, no-nonsense woman astronaut who is very much in the Peggy Whitson/Eileen Collins mold.
I feel like it’s kiiiiinda OK to lightly shame Philip, because (1) he’s super old and probably won’t read this, and (2) he’s rich as balls and even if he did read it, probably doesn’t care. Plebs will be plebs, etc.
I remember my first trip to the UK in.... 1996 (gak!) and people were saying that he was on his last legs then. Nah. It’s the tough old alcoholics like Philip that will outlive us all. (Having said that, he’ll probably die tomorrow and then won’t I feel bad).
Us humans often are.
You are my favourite person on this website today.
I’ll wade in here to suggest that there can be times when someone raping someone while ‘on the job’ can be relevant - if someone is in a position of trust, such as a doctor or a police officer (I linked to a case here in Newfoundland where precisely that happened) that can certainly be an aggravating factor which…
If you really want to get mad, read this:
Oh, you didn’t see Hidden Fences? The groundbreaking movie about female engineers building a fence around Denzel Washington’s house? You should check it out. Kerry Washington was great in it!
