Allison crushed this - she went broad and covered all her bases, managing to score some huge, populist items in the process. And she did that, despite a real waste of a first round pick!

Peter Lorre called, and wants Rami to return his face.
Here’s a self-consciously ridiculous/excellent use of children’s choir.
Now, I think the overall quality of the 2018 films may have been better - there were far fewer absolute turds than in ‘88 - but there were also far fewer movies oddball creative risks, and many fewer movies that I think will still hold up thirty years down the road.
Oh, this has been the trend for a while now; Endgame is just the culmination of it. In 2018, 20 of the 25 highest grossing films - including each of the top nine - were either remakes, sequels, or part of a larger cinematic universe! Compare that to 1988, in which only 3 of the 25 highest grossing films fit that bill…
Few things in this world are better than a tray of Gulf oysters and cold beer.
Yep! Flour tortillas actually work for quite a few beef taco variations, but corn is better with pretty much everthing else.
Kevin won, easily. He ended up with three picks that should have been gone in the first round (BLT, Po Boy, Banh Mi, with two absolutely rock solid contributors with the Cubano and Pastrami.
The whole family is trash. I will always remember his brother killing a cop and fleeing the scene: https://www.upi.com/Archives/1996/01/24/Josh-Gimelstob-charged-with-homicide/8989822459600/

I’m “meh” about sous vide, but I *do* use the reverse sear method entirely on the grill - cook the steaks on the “cool” side of the grill with just a touch of smoke, until they get up to about 110 or 115, and then sear them on each side for just a couple minutes.
Gwen won that quite handily. Kevin *was* having an excellent draft, but he really botched things with that throwaway final pick.
Houston is on pace to surpass Chicago in population in the coming years.
There used to be a pretty nifty blog that did exactly this - the author went alphabetically through her husband’s record collection, writing a review of each and holding no punches when she thought something was utter shit (regardless of the opinions of professional critics). Sadly, the author apparently quit the…
Yeah... and I would nominate the “other” Texas soda, Big Red, for the honor, but they’re also owned by Dr Pepper/Snapple.
His lawyers will try to plea it down or demand a change in venue.
I never found him funny either. I even watched the first three episodes of his show, before giving up, because a lot of friends and people whose taste I generally admire kept recommending him. He just came across as a creepish asshole with a huge ego. Which, I guess it turns out is exactly what he is.
I used to be a book hoarder, with a few thousand titles, but freed myself somewhat from that several years ago. Where once I bought books I wanted to read, now I go to the library weekly. In terms of my home collection, generally speaking, if it’s a book I haven’t read and which, realistically, I don’t see myself reall…
