Yes quality and reliability went downhill post the 2001 to 2005 models.

My 2008 BMW 335i would like to have a word or two with you! I’ve had the car for a little over 8 years now and the thing has gotten cozy with the service dept.mech. Luckily I was able to work on most of the issues myself but let’s not say a BMW is somehow the reference for quality!
