I'm not going to lie-it sucked at the time. But, it really was worth it. My suggestion would be to focus, get a plan together early on with a reasonable exit timeline (after the first semester), make sure your chair is on board, and get done. It's not your life's work, it's your ticket out to do your life's work.

Now that I am on the other side, I can honestly tell you that I have never regretted getting my degree (PhD in education). It gives me the flexibility to do just about whatever I want in my field. It was worth it. Hang in there!
