So why don't we go and do likewise? It's not like we can't do it.

Ehhhh…I think they were po'd at everybody. =)

Indeed! =)

I agree with a lot of what you write.
So it's a combination of public policy and individual changes. But the public policy is in the process of being reversed (and it's really been like that since the Bakke decision at least). We're going to have to find different arguments and solutions.

How do we fix achievement gap before college admissions process?

1) Didn't want to go to school in the south.
2) State school (PWI) was/is one of the best in the nation.
3) State school was also where one of my parents went for grad school.
4) Related to #3, was never any doubt from about age 7 as to where I was going to college

Affirmative action can be used in admissions but it's not required. And if if turns into quotas then it's not something that will be found legal.

Local whites, as they were prone to do, gathered to threaten his life and his family's lives. As the crowd became more ruly and started to

There is a book by John Hersey on the incident. And it appears that one of my family members "borrowed" it as it's not in my library right now. I'll be seeing them soon.
Anyhow…😁
it's certainly worthwhile reading.

Yup. One of the cops who would have been harassing the police chief's father back in the day shows no regrets. And he never saw any police brutality either. Evil walks free.
