Good lord! What has crawled up people’s butts today?
Good lord! What has crawled up people’s butts today?
I never suggested it wasn’t an issue. I merely suggested it isn’t a particularly BIG issue. This is a simple problem to solve and it won’t even take that much time/money to do it. Places like Seattle or Brooklyn are rolling these things out to apartment buildings and it isn’t that bad.
According to Nissan, for a Leaf it takes 3 hours to swap and the replacement part is $5,500. I suspect most battery replacements will settle to roughly the same level given the same range (plus/minus 20% or so).
Nearest I can work out, the replacement part is $5,500 from Nissan on a Nissan Leaf. Let’s assume that’s comparable to all other electric cars (BIG assumption, I know, but let’s use it for now). A new Leaf is a tad under $32k MSRP, so let’s make that $30k just for easy math and all that. That means the replacement…
People keep rolling out the “apartments” problem. But about 17% of the US population lives in an apartment. The overwhelming majority of people live in single family homes (whether they rent or own). This problem isn’t as big a problem as one would think, at least not in the US.
Well, first let me preface by saying - “generations” are all marketing bullshit speak anyway, so the idea of start/stop times is rather pointless and arbitrary. HOWEVER....
Motorcycles are not directly comparable to e-bikes. For one, they go a LOT faster. And cost a LOT more. They’re heavy as hell and can only be used on motorways. Motorcycles kill far more riders a year than bikes of any sorts.
Individuals are different, but we’re not talking about that. We’re talking about people in the aggregate. Individual differences matter if you’re looking for a spouse or a friend or whatever, but from the economy standpoint, the deviations from the trend are irrelevant. Which was my initial point - the strategy that…
They are saying at the current rate we should have herd immunity by July.
Nope. It isn’t different for everyone. It’s exactly the same. There’s even a law in economics to describe the phenomena: The Paradox of Thrift. Basically it says that while living within your means might make sense for a person, when everyone does it, it will crash the entire economy and make everyone broke.
That’s a gross misunderstanding of how both income taxes and student loans work.
Obvious illegal and yet far too common because it’s STUPID easy to get a gun even if you’re not allowed options.
I’m guessing this woman will no longer have access to firearms.
she won’t legally own a gun any longer, and won’t be able to legally buy more.
Honestly, I’d be almost as happy if they just wiped away the interest. I’ve been paying 8.25% now for so long my total ‘debt’ just gets larger and larger. I use quotes because while I certainly owe it, it’s way beyond anything I ever borrowed in the first place. My fellow tax payers are getting a SHITLOAD of extra…
Guess what? Most of those loans aren’t going to be repaid in full - they’ll get written off. I’m not sure why the tax payer gets to make a profit off other tax payers just because, but that’s how it works now. The tax payer isn’t going to lose any money, just make a less interest. You get the same thing when we…
I retract the wording my of “crimes” statements. It should read “the best indication of Whedon’s ‘crime’” I worded it poorly. I did not mean for it to indicate his one and only crime with regard to his work and behavior on Justice League.
I suspect with the growing movement to get rid of the laws protecting dealerships, more dealerships will need to embrace what customers want rather than relying upon antiquated approaches to selling cars. Hopefully this becomes the norm.
No, Bob’s isn’t supporting the local economy... the CUSTOMER is supporting the local economy. Bob isn’t spending Bob’s money. Bob is spending the money the customers give him. And he’s keeping a cut of the action without providing any real services in the process. “Innovation” in sales just helps salesmen. I’d rather…
We don’t know what it costs an OEM to make the car.
