Yeah Diablo 2 Manual & LoD manual was a little hefty, I bought a couple copies of that and Lord of Destruction over the course of a few years of using maphacking and getting banned (as well as taking CD keys from boxes in BJs and such), so I’d definitely know.

The only thing I used to enjoy about manuals were the summary of the world & characters in the game I just purchased. I’d open the box and read about the plot summary / characters on my way home.
