This *is* a community — it became one as soon as people started a dialogue with each other and Gina & co through the comments. It remains a community whether Gina & co wish it to be or not.

It was clearly a cockup, not a conspiracy.

I was broke, Windows sucked, I had a bunch of supposedly dead computer equipment lying around.

Has GTD changed my life? Yes. And, no.

The problem with these "better meetings" ideas is this: even if you are chairing the meeting, the chances are that there is someone with more authority there than you — otherwise why hold the meeting? And if this person doesn't buy into these new ideas, or doesn't cede you 100% authority, you might as well forget

I'm rubbish at remembering things. But I do have an excellent hack about remembering keys that always works, because it's so simple:

I try to ignore the fact that I don't like MS as a company. I look at the existing MS web products. I ask myself, "Are they good to use?" I answer "No" and remind myself to back up my delicious account data.

I have the same problems, but I'm not a christian and I don't think it's that easy to forgive yourself.

Odd coincidence — I've just started wearing my watch again after more than five years. And now I'm wondering why I ever stopped.

Okay, I got through about half the article and gave up. It seems vague to me. I personally am prone to slang, profanity, exaggeration (for comic effect), self-criticism, and sarcastic humour. This does not make me a bad person, although I think the article implies that I am. It says to watch for these things, but

::sigh:: Except for #4 and maybe #6, useless — if you live outside the US.

The thing that bugs me the most? When I get a call from someone claiming to be my bank / credit card company / whatever, but they won't say anything else until *I* confirm my ID to *them*.

Here in the UK (ahem) it's illegal to *hold* a phone in the car while the engine is running, let alone use it.
