A lot of the weapons throughout the show were CG. Batons, arrows etc.. it's safer first and foremost, but mostly it allows the director to focus on performance and story telling and not worry about whether they can nail that one in a million baton shot in a reasonable amount of time.

CG eye shields on the really tough stunt shots. In the wides we could keep the lenses in, but we had to add them later if the guys really needed to see :)
