if you had problems reading cdrs back in the day its because you didn’t know about plextor and taiyo yuden. you put those two things together and that burn was so solid it would play on the earliest of cd players or peripherals. not sure how early they came to market, but i know i had them by the time we got to 4x.

I remember burning CDs back then. CD burners didn’t have buffer under-run tech initially. So you literally couldn’t do anything else on your computer while a CD burned or else the stream to the CD writing would break up and mess up the (at that time) expensive CD.
