Well! That most certainly convinced me that you belong at Kotaku. Can’t wait to see what you write next.

Hopefully Jen O’Neal (?) might be able to change that culture at Blizzard, because she came up through QA.

At this point I think it’s mostly a hardware problem. Most companies would love to release their game on a console with nearly 100 million units sold... But the Switch’s aging hardware might make it more trouble than it’s worth.

I mean

This was beautiful.

Imagine not understanding hyperbole

Hear me out though

I mean it’s quite a good game TBH, and the pay to win aspect is very minor, and the gacha aspect even smaller than that

Kotaku is hardly alone in discussing Solar Ash’s difficulty. Most outlets have brought it up. When a studio has only created one game which is known for its difficulty, it’s natural to wonder if their next game is going to be difficult as well.

When Microsoft announced their $200 storage expansion, so many people were saying that extra storage would be cheaper on PS5 because you can use stuff off the shelf... Well, that panned out poorly lol.

Tons of people out here asking if people are stupider, ready to insult anyone who’s intimidated by this process, instead of trying to understand *why* people are intimidated.

Ethan specifically mentioned the text size option...

This is a big problem with ports across different form factors. So many Switch games that are barely playable in handheld, PC games with text you can’t read on your TV... Maybe the weirdest examples are Stadia games that you can't play on your phone because they haven't scaled the UI at all haha

Same! The final boss seemed like a huge leap in difficulty and I couldn't beat it even after grinding a bit... But like you, I was okay with it. It was amazing regardless.

What game wasn't that?

Because investors fear change and love stability. As long as Kotick isn’t personally implicated and continues to say the right-ish things publicly, investors will prefer to stay with the known quantity over someone new.

The P2W is really overrated. It can make you a little better, but it’s not going to turn the tide of any fight unless you’re playing at the highest levels.

Another issue is that I’ve found multiple pokestops which are in private/gated areas that people literally *cannot* access.

Yeah, Overwatch is probably my favorite game of all time, but since all this has come out I just get an icky feeling when I think about picking it up.

Yo I don't care for Fortnite at all but I might hop on for this
