Yeah no, I’m going to continue to hold Sony to the consumer-friendliness standards set by their direct competition, thanks though <3

I never found the need for extra space on my PS3, and while I upgraded the HDD on my PS4, all I needed to do was pop it in. This business with trying to get the right heatsink is significantly more intimidating than that, IMO.
Everyone who’s like, “This isn’t that complicated, it’s like the easiest part of building a PC.” Y’all are missing the point.
It’s quite complicated for a console, which have largely been plug and play for ages. (That’s a large part of why many people prefer consoles over PCs for gaming, TBH.) For someone who’s never messed with the internals of a computer, it’s pretty intimidating—mostly because of the heat sink thing. Like, I don’t have a…
Uh no, the toxic culture has stayed for so long because those in power have a vested interest in maintaining the status quo, and have a disproportionately large amount of power compared to the people they oppress. (Whether that’s women, LGBTQ+ people, the disabled, or whomever.) Most of the time, it doesn’t matter how…
I mean, most people need their paychecks. That’s not really a feasible solution.
So glad that an AB executive has successfully met the bare minimum for a situation like this
Look, I totally buy what people are saying about how he probably wasn’t aware at all... But that’s just as huge a failure. He *created* this company. He created the culture, both though his participation in it and through the people he hired and chose to run things. If he was so far removed, SO out of the loop that he…
EXCELLENT comment! Should be top level.
The only particularly good thing about these post-accountability apologies is how damning they are for Blizzard's case.
I’m curious to see how they changed the scene, but it wouldn’t be that hard to change the scene a bit while still preserving most of the mind-fuckery
Depictions of self harm and suicide in VR are, at least anecdotally, much more triggering than non-VR depictions. I, myself, struggle with media that depicts cutting—I can’t imagine how I’d react if something like that happened to me in VR without warning.
My only solace is that the new writers Kotaku has picked up over the past few years feel like they've always been here. Moreso than at other GO sites.
SAME
The point isn’t to change the kid, it’s to affirm to the LGBTQ community that Epic isn’t okay with the behavior, and to deter other creators from doing something similar.
I mean they maintain a public presence and create content for hundreds of thousands of people all around the world
Lol wut
“Words are not violence”
Replacing a few letters with asterisks won’t lead to any loss in meaning, and certainly doesn’t need to trigger the snowball effect you describe.
I actually thought Man of Steel had an excellent script—its main failing was the lack of follow through on its most controversial decisions (killing Zod and Jonathan telling Clark to hide his powers). But even then, I think it worked very well.
