For those who are interested, the most affordable 120hz TV I could find is this year's TCL 6-series, which starts at $650 for the 55 inch. It only supports 120hz up to 1440p, but I'm honestly not too pressed about that for reasons Ari already noted.

It’s honestly not so much about Bungie, it’s about the platform holders. And even then, it’s not about their overhead, it’s about their transaction fees. Sony, Valve and MS want to make the 30% cut when you play a game on their platform, and they don’t get that cut if you get access to purchases made elsewhere.

I see where you’re coming from but I’m not sure I agree. Fulldisclosure, I only have a PS4 but I think the situation is similar because we have a lot of months where I just have zero interest.

Yeah, for people who already have a lot of discs, the disc console is the way to go. I buy my games almost exclusively digitally already, so I’m happy I get to save the extra hundo whenever I decide to get a PS5.
