I don’t know if that holds. Like, mechanically, sure—but when you name it “humanity” and intrinsically tie it to your character’s empathy, you’re not sending the message that it’s simply representing trauma.

Yeah, but the suggestion that non-organic augmentations/prostheses/etc somehow reduce your humanity isn’t particularly kind to real people who are forced into using those things.

I think a lot of people would tell you that the Asian fetishization in cyberpunk is problematic. And there are plenty of cyberpunk stories which don’t continue that aspect  of the genre.

I mean, "strange" is the wrong word. At this point it just looks thoughtless, if not outright neglectful.

Can people not critique things? Must we sit in silence unless we hate something, at which point we are suddenly allowed to bring up its flaws?

You’ll find that many people who don’t enjoy Roguelikes/Souls/etc. games don’t improve very quickly. It ends up being more frustrating than satisfying.

I’m a special ed paraeducator (2nd and 3rd grade), and parents are going to CRAZY lengths to help their kids learn online. Most of them stay next to their kid the entire time, usually while also trying to work from home. I can’t imagine how draining it is.
