you see, it ONLY wets the road if the vehicle RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU is going to hit the roof. If you see a wet road there, better not follow the truck. Otherwise, dry road, safe driving ahead.

Any term can be used negatively. This is why words like my example "Mexican" make some people squirm, even though that's the technical term. Just because bigots use it in a negative context, it doesn't make "Mexican" itself a negative term.

The alternative to driving through the wet spot is having a truck in front of you unexpectedly come to a complete stop with no brake lights. Seems like a decent trade off to me.
