Dang, I did not need to read this story today. Let’s see, my wife’s van hasn’t had a transmission flush ever. My daughter keeps forgetting to do oil changes and I snapped off a nipple on the radiator and fixed it with epoxy and hope. The washing machine has a broken spring and seems to be made of razor blades when I

This was also the time when much of the county was still in black and white due to austerity programs implemented at the beginning of WWII.

I can picture it now, the next buyer of this slow and smelly chariot.

Look up “Fiat Toro”. It’s a unibody crew cab pickup truck built in Brazil, for Brazil in the Compass platform. You can have it in FWD manual 1.8L (!) trim and 2.0L diesel AT9 trim, and (almost) everything in between.

“I was basically in the lines.”

Those were the days...

One of my favorite movies is Michael Mann’s The Last of the Mohicans especially for Danial Day Lewis’ all-in performance. I love the way he pronounces Kentucky “Kan-tuck-ee” which has led me to do the same ever since.

You say that like being a bourbon-soaked nut job was a bad thing to be.

What you need to do is find an 80's Type 2 T3 Transporter (Vanagon) automatic. They were a fairly straightforward torque converter automatic like most cars, and a bug can be modified to accept it. (In fact, a common off-road modification is to fit the heavier duty Bus manual in a Baja bug.)
