I see what you’re saying. There would be plenty of instances where a basic K&N or comparable upgrade wouldn’t really see gains. But from a pure scientific standpoint, better flow means less resistance to flow whether the ECU utilizes it or not-essentially lowering losses. That’s hard to argue against, I think.

I am somewhat inclined to believe that a bigger filter with a better flow rate outweighs the possible disadvantages of hotter intake air temp
