Interestingly, that's the third story I've ever heard that ended in a dead car being revived by Mexicans. First was my parents' Toyota Starlet, spun a bearing. Second was a V6 Toyota U-haul truck. I love that these cars carry on. Haha

Hey, you have to respect The Iron Duke.

So these engines don't experience lubrication problems, when they're mounted sideways like that? I always imagined that would be an issue.

Exactly.

I'm normally the first person to get pissed off reading comments on the internet, but I must say the butthurt is strong with us Jalops, here on this article.

For reasons unknown I've always felt a deep attraction to the shitboxes of bygone eras. There's something very real and very shitty about these cars that you just don't get with anything on the road today.

So riddle me this - timing belts. Why? From what I've read I can see that timing chain designs are a bit more complex, requiring guides and tensioners, but if a chain can last almost twice as long as a belt, what's the use?! Volvo seems very fond of the belt route. I was reading about one of the famed red blocks,

No way! I only had mine for 4 months! I never seem to keep vehicles for long. But then I'm 20 and I have no idea what I'm doing.

I had a Toyota truck myself and noticed the same thing. Pronounced clicking sound. It was low mileage when I got it and most of the 22r's I've heard sound similar...

Nice flexing!

I did some research of my own. I try not to be too prideful, so I will concede my point. Bigger and heavier is not necessarily safer. There is a fair amount of research that concludes SUVs are not generally safer - and they are GENERALLY more dangerous to other vehicles. They're also more prone to rollovers. So I

Predicting and preventing unsafe reactions from a driver in a crash scenario seems like a very complicated game. How could you gather data without risking the life or health of the occupant?

I don't see issue with big huge SUVs. The driving experience of course leaves something to be desired, but in terms of safety, heavy is a big plus. No matter how you design the frame of a car to crumple or what, heavy thing wins in a crash. Does that necessarily pose a threat to other lighter cars on the road?

On the new Tacoma—because I don't care about Lexus—I would like to see a complete and total overhaul. In fact, let's find a new name, too, haha.

Made me laugh. Much as I am a Toyota fanboy I have been hating the logo.

When driving my grandma's Prius, I wondered to myself - "Does it hoon?"

'87 Dakota. Sioux word meaning friend. Bought it for 1400 my senior year of high school. I busted my ass for two years making A's, working fast food, and running cross country. Went through my mom's second divorce, depression and anxiety episodes, mental hospital stay. No help from nobody and I was proud of that. Had
