Years ago I worked with someone who had recently graduated college, but was very good and thrifty and saved up enough to write a check for a modest sedan. So he goes to a Chevrolet dealership to have a look at a Malibu. He was very young looking, so he received the same treatment. So he goes and buys a Saturn Aura

What brand is 100% modification friendly at every dealership location? As a person who spends time on VW forums I get the sense that VW dealerships are at least less likely to try to deny coverage based on shady, BS reasons, like upgraded tires or brake pads were the reason why the water pump failed or something

This car looks like it has some aero working for it. I feel like I can say with confidence that it doesn’t general an ounce of lift. That absurdly large diffuser on the rear of the car certainly generates a not insubstantial amount of downforce.

The original house was hideous. There’s nothing about that porch that needed to be preserved.

I do want farm subsidies. In fact, they should be expanded and adjusted to send a larger allocation of funds to family run farms instead of disproportionate amount to corporate run farms.

Wait..... why was this posted to Jalopnik? New York state politics?

Just like the blue states fund the red States, NYC funds the rest of NY.

This reminds me of Illinois, where every now and then some jackass introduces a bill to kick Chicago out of the state..... completely oblivious to the fact that the rest of the state is living off of Chicago tax revenue that would be even more beneficial if not for the flat income tax rate.

It’s a better setup than paying eleventy billion dollars to build a stadium for a private ball club that’s going to demand another eleventy billion dollars for another new stadium in five years.

I did a 12 hour ride with a cat that had a hard time with cars. What worked for me was a bunch of prep rides with the cat let out of the carrier. Eventually he got to he point where he’d ride in the car standing on my lap with his front paws on the steering wheel. Most of the ride he was curled up somewhere in the

All of the podcasts. Like one or two Dan Carlin Hardcore History episodes should get you most of the way across the country.

Yeah, agreed.

Fair point sir, I’m on your team.

There are cars that shift, brake, accelerate, and turn on their own. When we get to the point where you can say that computer controlled cars will “pass me” I’ll shrug and say the same thing I’ll tell you about paddle shifter.... eh, whatever, my enjoyment of my car is not impacted by your preferences

I don’t think it’s “snobbish” to say that you enjoy the mechanical interaction aspect of driving cars. If you’re happy with a car that shifts for you, then I’m happy for you. But I enjoy the satisfaction that comes with rowing my own, smoothly. Lacking that, driving becomes less special to me as an experience. Sure,

I want a third pedal.

I’m fairly certain that the type of person that would take down the live stream for LeMans is the same type of person who would intentionally wreck people in Forza. I have some leads for you, especially if you can promise that they’ll be jailed for life in a prison that doesn’t give prisoners access to X-Boxes.

Any car that has an Alabama “Helping Schools” specialty plate needs to be given a lot of space. After years of living in Alabama I don’t think I observed a single car with that plate that wasn’t moving like the operator was asleep at the wheel. Thankfully I’m far away from Alabama now, but I still see one every now

I mean this in the most politely critical way possible. I am not setting out to be just another asshole in a comments section that makes you, as an author, hate comment sections.

“Spend your money” isn’t financial advice. It’s the equivalent of those lame pictures old white people post on Facebook that list a variety

This article: written by someone who has never been poor, hungry, and in an unfortunate place where she had to choose which bill couldn’t get paid that month.
