Surprised that there is no mention of Vittorio Storaro as cinematographer. There may have been some odd choices but he is one of the greats, and the series overall did look good.

Wasn’t it more like front projection effects that were used, as Kubrick did in 2001 A Space Odyssey with the ‘Dawn of man’ scenes. I own both Dune and the Children of Dune DVDs, and the CGI actually was pretty good, I agree. You can tell in one or two of the live action scenes that they’re just in front of a matte background, but what can you expect? It certainly doesn’t ruin the entire series.

Thor is nothing special, kind of a dull film with very little to say about anything. Just a stone in the footpath towards that first Avenger’s movie. Artemis Fowl however is straight up atrocious and embarrassingly incompetent in all regards.

A “Bacchanal” requires wine. I suggest Mad Dog 20/20 classic grape flavor given the rest of your menu choices.
