part of it is checking out the theories, but also part of it is seeking out others who are just as giddy about what we've seen. damn, i hope this sees theatrical release…

i'm just hoping that if nuclear bombs start heading our way, showtime has an emergency plan in place to put up the last episodes, because eternal hellfire will be nothing compared to missing them…

i think the lodges were an ancient (extraterrestrial?) thing having to do with the balance of good and evil, and when Bob showed up he learned to manipulate its power or struck some deal with the spirits there to use its power in exchange for garmonbozia and souls, but because of Bob the power of the lodge has bled

also, in a strange way, the strobe is random in a way that you kinda see the flash, and then you try to anticipate another one to see where it is coming from, but then it doesn't happen, so you stop looking for it and it happens again…

yeah, the way tina's daughter was kinda vague about whether her uncle was there or not with the billy thing made me think she could be talking about a dream (especially the way the series and this episode and particular plays around with that). we've also seen shared dreams before, so wouldn't be surprising if audrey

i always watch her reactions…when gordon gave that 'he's dead' line, the look on her face was subtle but hilarious….

it seemed intentional and brought to mind a few american accents on bbc, where you can have an alabama accent and a boston accent in the same sentence…

what a great episode! such a great payoff. it's funny how we enjoy playing with our theories about it when you can't predict what will happen in any scene.

i think they did it on General Hospital way back

my first guess about the shadow was that it was a woodsman.

it's more fun when you guys write about stuff you like or have an interest in. this place has already been overrun by hate-watchers; do we now have to be bored by hate-listeners as well?

i'm guessing that's why she wasn't so disturbed by whatever sound was coming from her kitchen when Hawk dropped by. the fan was a conduit for the lodge spirits, and i think she's been living with them in some form since losing her family…

Leland drugged Sarah on what was apparently a routine basis. (And Bob probably manipulated her in other ways, perhaps taking advantage of some psychic ability she had, unless that psychic ability was the result of her spending her entire marriage sleeping next to Bob.)

i don't think we've seen it transport anything. when ray died, his body didn't go into the black lodge; his soul did. the ring seems to be a way for the black lodge to claim souls. until ray mentioned that he was told to put the ring on evil cooper after killing him, i had assumed that the wearer must put it on

he'll scribble 'Let's Dance' in the dust on cooper's windshield

my suspicion is that Bob was kinda 'trapped' within the doppelganger, who (having his own power as a lodge spirit) suppressed Bob's influence (why he was asking 'are you still with me?' in prison). i think Bob at some point corrupted the black lodge (which was around long before he showed up), and he uses its power

when the game of thrones premiere hit, i made the mistake of watching both in the same week…and yeah, I love game of thrones, and last year i would have said it was the best thing done for television, but the depth of twin peaks made it feel like a saturday morning cartoon. so despite spoilers running around

i'm really loving this whole idea that those of us who are enjoying the show are a bunch of fools being taken for a ride, but those who can't seem to shut up about hating it are the clever ones who see through it all.

i'm enjoying how lynch/frost set up these two classic torture- and wendy's-loving tarantino characters and then just puts them on the edge of what is going on. not that they don't have a part to play coming up, but the thematic weight of everything else just makes them a quirky sideshow.

contortionistic jazz exotica!
