a shame Candie from twin peaks couldn't be there to do it instead https://youtu.be/3SqgCnLcOQ0
and yet it's hillary who gets accused of running a pedophile ring…what's next, the pedo yiannopoulos story?
did iggy not realize that 'lust for life' was already famously attributed to a novel and film about van gogh? that would be like my band releasing an album called ferris bueller's day off.
i think that in whatever interaction they had years ago, combined with the words he texted, somehow she has fallen under his influence. in episode 8, the woodsman used a poem to put listeners to sleep, and in the original series, the phrase 'fire walk with me' (and the poem with it) had some meaning to the lodge…
but also: the hotel key…if he is dreaming the whole vegas thing, he would have to be dreaming the parts happening at great northern, where they received the key in the mail
i might be mis-remembering, but didn't the doppelganger actually call and talk to him in last week's episode?
also i think there is technology in the vegas sequences that cooper would not be familiar enough with to incorporate into his dreams, his having been away for so many years…
some cool parallels (and there is a theory that the first part of 'fire walk with me' is indeed a dream cooper is having, putting chet desmond in his place to re-work the teresa banks case)…but we've also seen the doppelganger (who exists in the real world) interact with the vegas dude hiring hitmen
something i might have missed if somebody mentioned it: when mullins puts dougie into the car, he says 'knock 'em dead' and at that moment dougie put his hand up to his face and starts squeezing it—the same way (back in episode 2) the doppelganger apparently killed jack—a scene that also took place in front of an…
i've been thinking the coordinates are going to send the fbi to twin peaks, and ben will mention the key at some point, and guessing that the post office like put it in something with a vegas postmark, and that will lead them in that direction; i had thought maybe jade's fingerprints would be part of that pathway, but…
i've been curious if the way he has experienced has been only what we have seen…just these fragments of interactions. when he was talking to the giant, it seemed like he was kinda teleconferencing in to the white lodge.
i really liked it (and again on rewatch pretty recently). i never really got the 'twin peaks' comparisons, because it's a kinda cultish futuristic sci-fi thing, except that it was unconventional and atmospheric and had interesting/strange characters; considering all the twin peaks-inspired shows we've gotten…
one or the other…the parts of the black lodge we have seen so far look like the waiting room (you know you're in the black lodge because that's where the doppelgangers show up—the last episode of season 2 showed the 'transition' to the black lodge when the 'arm' clapped his hands and there was an explosion)…
the timing matched becky's gunshots…and she was typing a bunch of stuff out while she was talking, which I figured was her process of dispatching someone to the scene…and all the other calls were reporting the same gunshots
maybe obvious, but i took it that mike in the black lodge is the one who sent the dream to mitchum (as the lodge spirits do sometimes) and guided dougie to the cherry pie in order to save dougie from them.
haha i can't even watch game of thrones until the twin peaks season is over. as much as i love it, it can't compare.
you don't just squat in a castle. winter's coming, and it's cold, so you'd need a staff just to get enough fires going. and it's not like you just pop out to the piggly wiggly to get some snacks or whatever. you need a staff to get food and cook it. and people by now probably know better than to just shack up in…
i thought he was cool in 'wild palms', which was definitely influenced by twin peaks…
yeah true…though i kinda think running the kid over was a 'nothing left to lose' moment, and we're seeing the effects of that…
