The people who don’t vaccinate their kids are the same people who are gluten free (without having celiac disease) and who can’t have dairy (not lactose intolerant). I’m not sure her type of caring is appropriate. And I agree with you about the weirdness of the entire situation. My husband is a professor and the expectation is that he will behave professionally and uphold the university’s values, not that he will get chummy enough with students and dedicated enough to their cause…

I have NO problem with her personal opinions. I do have a problem with the way she handled herself in front of students, and with the idea overall of treating college students like children. I also strongly believe in a free press and the right to express unpopular opinions in a university setting.

Correct. It bears noting that the journalist she physically assaulted was an Asian Student, Tim Tai. If this were a male professor assaulting a female student, everyone on this site would be throwing the kitchen sink, refrigerator and microwave at him. Moral consistency is important here.
