Jesus, really? It's roughly 12,000 words long, which is about 10,000 more than it needs to express its ideas, most of which are bland restatements of criticisms that have been voiced from the point of TFA's release.
And let's not brush over the fact that much of that word count is filled out with wretched sentences

they may be men, but they sure are cunts!

"You're way better than this."

for a review as negative as this, that's an awfully high grade to give it

BUT TO WHAT END?!

"Perhaps the ultimate test for “Battle Of The Bastards” is this: if this
were a chapter in Martin’s books instead of a visually stunning episode
of television, would any of this work?"

Please don't let the comic be shitty, please don't let the comic be shitty, please don't let the comic-

your first paragraph, but unironically

Wait, wait—"phrasing" is functionally similar to "that's what she said?!"

Those sort of references and cameos are called "vacuous pandering" my friend.

It came to mind simply as a performance where Hopkins' penchant for mumblymouthed roaring was on full display, and where his essential faults as a performer were thrown into sharper relief by his costar's performance — which in that particular case was very good.

that's neither here nor there???

A good guess but in fact I genuinely do not enjoy the bulk of Anthony Hopkins' performances.
Bob Hoskins upstaged him hardcore in that BBC Othello.

"Hey, remember when the name Anthony Hopkins was synonymous with quality?"

"If you thought this opinion was bad, wait 'til you get a load of the next paragraph!"

hi, just curious: what's the "pun" you're referring to in the headline??

Taking a minute to google the films you're writing about was the kind of luxurious excess that would have flown at The Dissolve; and look and see where that got them!

Fun fact: they upped the difficulty immensely for Castlevania 3's American release (not sure about Europe but probably?)
The Japanese release is perfectly balanced, outside of Grant's normal attack being infinite throwing knives, which is just silly.

Didn't read the body of the article, but I'm glad to hear that Richard Matheson is still alive and writing.
