That was a very gross scene. Set the tone for the rest of the episode for me, and I was never able to hook in. My patience for continuing with this show is growing very short.

Pretty sure the deer is not in the book. There wasn't anything in the book I recall about the main character being maaaaaybe crazy or hallucinatory.

I thought the book was okay. Why anyone thought it would make good source material for an HBO show is really surprising, unless they just plan to just use the book as a jumping-off point. No idea how it could ever go beyond a season.

I've read the book, and can't really think of a single thing from the book that would be considered a spoiler, aside from the very thing that Perotta and Lindelof have been publicizing in recent interviews (i.e., spoiler? - the disappearance is never explained). There's not a lot of plot there.

Doves are one of my favorite bands ever. The Last Broadcast is a top-5 album for me. Would be cool to see them put out another record.

YFIIP is a top 5 album of all time for me. Really hope BSS gets together on a new album one of these days.
