Yes, because the last thing anyone needs is police having more perverse incentives to mislabel evidence in order to bypass the need for a warrant. Getting one just makes their case stronger in the long run anyway.

Yeah, I’m not expecting the authors to have any authority to make such changes, but they’re the only ones we really have any degree of interaction with. So I have to keep leaving these bits of protest in each article on the chance that someone higher up will take note.
