I can’t tell if you are being sarcastic or not, but I will go to bat for the first Transformers movie as being an FX milestone. If anything, they put too much effort into the robot transformations, there’s so many little parts moving at once it’s hard for the human eye to register.

Dabney Coleman was robbed of the Oscar that year

I’m gonna go Hayden Panettiere on some terries. Especially when they get froggy!

Or King Kong. And if you want to get into the Ultraman pantheon of monsters, you can include King Joe, Red King, Black King and a handful of others that just like adding the work “King” to their names. Too many kings!

Dunno if you live anywhere near Chicago, but every July there’s a Godzilla convention out by O’Hare airport (the one this year was just a week ago). Your son would absolutely love it. The first time I took my boys they geeked out almost as much as I did.

You can’t call, there’s people on the other end! They’ll know!

I think this looks great. I liked the 2014 movie, but this still looks like a vast improvement in every way. Also, can they please work this song into the soundtrack?

I hope Paul Rudd gets a cameo as Ant-Ant.

Now we all know Disney cancelled Clone Wars. But what this announcement presupposes is... maybe they didn’t?

I dont care that it was the punchline of a joke on The Office, I like Sbarro’s

Off subject here, but despite living in the Midwest my entire life, yesterday was the first time I’ve ever set foot in Iowa. Went to Wisconsin for a weekend vacation, and our drive home took us through western Iowa. Has we not crossed the Mississippi twice, I wouldn’t have even realized I wasn’t in Illinois, just

The funny thing about Gone Girl is it’s fictional setting was around Hannibal, but the movie was shot in Cape Girardeau, so it’s hard not to think of the story as being in southern MO (the movie at least). And although it’s true the boot-heel towns feel like deep south (mainly because some folks down there speak with

Goodfellas is my favorite Scorcese movie (actually my favorite movie in general), but I’ve seen Casino more times. It’s one of those films that if I catch while flipping channels, I’ll stop and watch every single time. I had viewed it on vhs so many times way back when, that when I watch it now, I still remember the

It’s a casino, people got to win sometimes!

I had a much different experience. I wasn’t bullied at all until I got to 9th grade. Revenge of the Nerds was still relatively new, and it emboldened the High School bullies to target pretty much any kid wearing glasses (and I had one hideous pair of glasses).

Eighth Grade was awesome, last year of Middle School, lots of fun and goofing off. Ninth Grade sucked. First year of high school, new environment, harder classes, bunch of asshole classmates.

Speaking as someone who has to make the drive from St. Louis to the Missouri boot heel at least once a year, I can attest that is a very boring trek.

Calmer than you are

For a bit of levity and authenticity, they could have had her stop off at Lamberts in Sikeston on the way down. Home of the Throwed Rolls.

Perhaps she took the scenic route and drove route 3 south to Chester IL to see the Popeye statues, and then crossed back over to the MO side. Kidding aside, I’m guessing they just wanted to show landmarks and filming someone driving south on 55 wouldn’t look like anything special.
