I’m talking more along the lines that the ‘brand’ of TDi clean diesel has been damaged more than the engineering has. the trust is gone. There’s no getting that back.

I’d sell my right kidney for a 70 GS. I’d go harvesting other’s kidney’s for a GSX.
sorry if your slammed 98 civic was above my crappy Jetta.
I lin NJ. It’s the home of Audi patronage... and profanity. I think they actually check you at the gate of Short Hills Mall to make sure you aren’t some meager peasant trolling around in a leased Q5.
dude, that doesn’t even make any sense.
as a former (dissatisfied) VW TDi owner, reading these news postings is like basking in a glorious tidal wave of schadenfreude.
VW will live.
and now the sibling rivalry between Porsche and Audi comes to an end at the same time modern diesel comes to an end.
you know, I’ve always wondered why VW only offered the 2.0L TDI in front wheel drive applications. There’s certainly a market for it, but even Audi only offers AWD with the 3.0L TDI. I’m curious if the emissions defeat feature that’s built-in to these cars has a logic check that starts-up the full emissions equipment…
I don’t care about the politics or the polar bears or the regulations. I care that VW deliberately and with premeditation defrauded the government and the consumers. While I appreciate epic sized balls, I have to stop and wonder what else have they methodically lied about in recent years? Do TDi fuel pumps still…
frozen white, just the sexy wheels. that’s it.
yes, those seats are sweet. and you can actually reach the adjustments.
wrong for you. and like I said before, I just don’t fit. it’s not obesity.
it’s not obesity. I’m 6’, 230 lbs, and I have a 36” waist. my rib cage does not physically fit between the side bolsters. I could lose 80lbs from dysentery, die, dessicate like the pharaohs of old, and my lifeless skeleton still wouldn’t fit.
I drove the ST for 20 minutes and I will never sit in those seats again. My spine didn’t even touch the seat back as my ribcage spanned across the bolsters.
I just hope it comes without those horrible Recaro torture seats they put in the ST up-trim packages.
yeah, but you might have thought that the seats might be bunches more comfortable if they were an inch wider. The agonizing seats in the Focus ST come to mind.
5th Gear: Should VW Have Chosen An Outsider
I’m sorry, but I kinda get it. Last time I was car shopping, I was comparing a 335ix vs an S4, and I was miffed about the electronic E-brake in the console, but when I sat in the 335, I was amazed at just how much otherwise useful space was taken up by the E-brake handle.
sorry, the one I was looking at (used) was the 535
