This is less of a boeing problem and more of a foreign airline operators problem.  The airlines in the United States have realized it costs to much money to crash a plane and have taken exceptional steps to mitigate that today as much as possible.  Do you remember the last time we crashed a domestic airliner?

It's not 100% chance.  Not even close.  This is pilot error.  Was there a fault with the plane?  Absolutely, but it didn't necessarily lead to a non-recoverable situation.
