Oh, for sure. The women's US soccer team should win their lawsuit. There's definitely more to the pay disparity than quality of product. However, basketball is not the hill to die on here.

The underlying reason for the huge disparity is that womens' basketball is not entertaining. Womens' soccer, hockey, baseball, tennis, golf, all great. Women's basketball, on the otherhand, is god-awful. There's a reason one can only make a living doing it in Russia.

Tax pro here. It wasn't taxable in 2008/09, and I seriously doubt it'll be taxable now. It's generally considered a tax rebate; kinda like an extra refund of tax you paid in a previous year. Refunds are not taxable; that would be weird, arithmatically

Drew got it right. The best minimum wage job is a card dealer. 40 minutes on, 20 minutes off, and the tips are crazy. One can make several hundred dollars in tips alone over a six hour shift, and if you choose, the majority of those tips are tax-free. Yes, you get jerks, but where in life don’t you get jerks?
