This is one of the reasons why the metro system in Montreal was built entirely underground, removes the complications of our very cold winters and (potentially very) warm summers.

Actually the reason they still use impact dot matrix printers is because the printer head physically hits the paper and it works for the carbon paper copies underneath. There are alternatives now, but it’s reliable and cheap, so why replace it.
