did you not read article above that explained in detail how this could actually work?

Exactly this. It's not just minimum wage earners that deserve a raise.

I think both you and the fast food workers deserve a raise. $15 an hour doesn't sound like a fair wage for someone with post-secondary education. I think that show badly skewed America's concepts of wage and value are. How can the same people who tell me that Mitt Romney deserves to make $100 million a year for moving

I think by economics major he/she means 'I read Machiavelli once' (but Atlas Shrugged more than once)

oh, I get it now. You recently read Atlas Shrugged. Yeah, I read that in high school. It was interesting, but then I learned a bit about economics.

I've actually heard that about Canberra, and in all fairness I've never been there. But I will continue to make fun of it.

point taken. If you start a GoFundMe, I will contribute, however.

do me a favor: go to Italy, travel all over the country eating pizza. Tell me if you see a pizza with chicken on it. I'll wait here. No, but seriously, I fully admit it may taste good, it's just wrong, and I'm a dickhead when it comes to food. Sorry. (Not really)

amazing, as in, it's amazing that people eat this? Yes.

and it's pretty clear they're going to lose the Senate in 2016. Can't fight demographics.

I wonder how long before they pass a bill they actually expect to be signed into law. I'm guessing sometime around October of 2016 might be the turning point.

That would be terrible. Think of all the fantastic food and coffee you would be forced to enjoy in Melbourne, which you've no doubt been deprived of in Canberra, at least. Do they even have restaurants there, or does Tony Abbott just have everyone over for dinner? That's a thing, right? Hobart I've only been to once

Oh, I fully admit to...maybe...once...enjoying the flavor of buffalo chicken on pizza, in a junk food sort of way. But the Italian in me will not allow me to order it more than say, once a year, because it is wrong.

well in Melbourne they do ham, egg and pineapple. Yes, every conversation between us now is going to begin with "well, you know, in Melbourne..." Because i'm a dickhead. I've actually sort of had to hand in my Aussie credentials, because I live in the States now. Very sad. But I haven't been shot yet, so that's good.

yes! To the sausage one.

Yes, I know as Australians we're supposed to enjoy pineapple, ham and egg on pizza, but two things: 1. I'm not a real Aussie. 2. It's not good.

and chicken, pulled pork, or barbecue sauce. Things not allowed on pizza.

No. Non. Nein. Nicht. Except pineapple on tacos, which is totally acceptable, and actually a thing in Mexico City (tacos al pastor).

history repeats itself. HR1 when Republicans took the House in 2011 was an anti-abortion bill. I wonder what their donors think.

I believe he was also a writer or producer on The Office (US version) so if you like that style of comedy (I do), Nightly should be great. Also I like the panel, the U.S. needs a late night comedy show like this with a panel, we had this in Australia and I've always felt there is a need for it here.
