Have you considered reaching out to the studio or anybody involved in the editing to find out what actually happened? If you’re going to report stuff, try doing some reporting.

I mean, you can say the Grammys is a racist and shitty awards ceremony, and you’ll get no argument from me, but centering the whole thing on Beyonce and her not winning a very specific award seems like it narrows the focus to an absurd degree that muddies the message.

It’s not even a lack of awards, since she literally just broke the record for number of Grammies won. It’s just this one award.

See, I was excited, because a few days ago, we were supposed to be Anti-Beyoncé, because she performed in the Middle East. (As someone who never got into her music, this possibility was exciting for me.) Now we’re supposed to be lamenting her lack of awards for a generational celebration of the minority culture she

I don’t see how the Grammy’s have “failed to do the work” when Beyonce has won... checks notes.... 29 Grammys.  With her wins last night she broke the record for most awards.

I know people really like the Mario sketch but the reason you can “imagine [it] going into development” is because it went into development. There was a weird, dystopian Mario movie and it was much stranger than anything in the sketch, so that made the sketch kind of a miss for me.

Shyamalan seems to be on a roll for adapting great source material into dreck. First Sandcastle and now The Cabin at the End of the World. Sandcastle, the critically acclaimed graphic novel that Old is based on, is fucking fantastic. Shyamalan’s version remove’s everything that is good about it. Sandcastle is both a

It is BECAUSE of Maine’s inherent blandness that King was forced to create universes where all manner of fantastical and horrifying events are constantly taking place.

As a queer person, I didn’t read it as a Bury Your Gays at all – they didn’t die because of homophobic brutality or tragedy, they died because they were old and content, it’s really the most beautiful, sweet, and sad episode of TV I’ve seen in a long time.

this isn’t about whether or not he’s guilty, it’s about the game company he willingly resigned from.

I think you’re forgetting how many best-of-2022 lists Top Gun: Maverick ended up on. Even AVClub put it at #6. Just go to the movie’s accolades page on Wikipedia. It was a huge hit for critics and audiences alike.

I bet you haven’t made a friend in a loooooooong time.

Sometimes a commenter on here says something which lets you know that you can freely ignore everything they say for the rest of time. Thanks for letting us know early!

What did you not like about it? Considering it’s pretty much universally beloved, seems like you might need to show your work.

... but that wasn’t its main setpiece for starters ... (???)

I love when people present their personal opinions as objective facts, and then follow that up with condescending patronization. It’s like a one-two punch of douche-baggery.

It’s a fucking good movie.
